{"id":732,"date":"2009-05-18T11:13:31","date_gmt":"2009-05-18T18:13:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/?p=732"},"modified":"2009-05-18T11:17:27","modified_gmt":"2009-05-18T18:17:27","slug":"back-by-popular-demand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/2009\/05\/18\/back-by-popular-demand\/","title":{"rendered":"Back by Popular Demand&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Or at least the polite request of a good friend.\u00a0 =)<\/p>\n<p>The weather was a little muggy and overcast in LA this weekend, which was apparently better than the blistering heat up in northern California.\u00a0 I had a dentist appointment for a cleaning Saturday, which is pretty uneventful except that I love my dentist and want to be her BFF.\u00a0 A friend\/co-worker of mine had recommended Dr. E and I&#8217;ve since recommended her to a couple of friends, T, and my brother-in-law.\u00a0 Dr. E&#8217;s really good at keeping track of all of these relationships and what everyones interests\/hobbies\/jobs are so it&#8217;s always fun to visit her.\u00a0 I just wish she wasn&#8217;t, you know, doing dentistry on my mouth so we can actually talk!\u00a0 =)<\/p>\n<p>After the dentist appointment, I met up with T and his partner for lunch across the street.\u00a0 Well, T and his partner ate and I watched since I was heading to the Peninsula Hotel to meet up with friend for tea later in the afternoon.\u00a0 I love afternoon teas.\u00a0 Yummy food, nice ambiance, and great company.\u00a0 Plus, the tea service at the Peninsula is one of the best in LA.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday, T and I started the morning with a lovely run on the trails behind our neighborhood followed by brunch at Picnik (banana chocolate chip pancakes!), a Laker&#8217;s game (T)\/reading (me), and Star Trek.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve never been a Trekkie, but I thought the movie was entertaining.\u00a0 Just don&#8217;t think too hard about the characters&#8217; motivations, which don&#8217;t make much sense.\u00a0 Bonus &#8211; we saw the movie at the Landmark which is the only place I know of that sells <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tim_Tam\" target=\"_blank\">Tim Tams<\/a>.\u00a0 Yummmmm.\u00a0 Tim Tams. \u00a0 Now available in chocolate hazelnut mousse!<\/p>\n<p>All in all, it was a nice lazy weekend.\u00a0 Between all the lounging around, we continued our year-long discussion on whether to paint our place, but (again) didn&#8217;t reach any conclusions.\u00a0 We are paralyzed by the overwhelming color choices!<\/p>\n<p>Oh &#8211; I almost forgot to add &#8211; we had a small earthquake Sunday night.\u00a0 First one we&#8217;ve experienced in our new condo I think.\u00a0 Always a little nerve-wracking.\u00a0 It was cute to see T so concerned about Alfie though!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Or at least the polite request of a good friend.\u00a0 =) The weather was a little muggy and overcast in LA this weekend, which was apparently better than the blistering heat up in northern California.\u00a0 I had a dentist appointment for a cleaning Saturday, which is pretty uneventful except that I love my dentist and [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":110,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2085],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-732","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-the-condo"],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/732","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/110"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=732"}],"version-history":[{"count":5,"href":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/732\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":737,"href":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/732\/revisions\/737"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=732"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=732"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=732"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
