{"id":71,"date":"2005-05-23T10:31:12","date_gmt":"2005-05-23T14:31:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/2005\/05\/23\/where-am-i\/"},"modified":"2006-04-28T12:38:23","modified_gmt":"2006-04-28T19:38:23","slug":"where-am-i","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/2005\/05\/23\/where-am-i\/","title":{"rendered":"Where Am I?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a name=\"a131\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I have a horrible tendency to get lost.\u00a0 It doesn&#8217;t matter where I&#8217;m going, how easy it is to get there, or how often I&#8217;ve been there.\u00a0 Chances are pretty high that I&#8217;ll get lost along the way.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, I drove from\u00a0downtown LA to Westwood.\u00a0 Those of you who are familiar with LA will recognize that this is a fairly simple route.\u00a0 Those of you who remember I went to UCLA\u00a0will realize that I\u00a0actually lived in Westwood for several years.\u00a0 Those of you\u00a0who know me well will not be surprised that I ended up hopelessly lost anyways.\u00a0 I only\u00a0called for directions when I accidentally hit\u00a0Venice Beach.\u00a0 Ordinarily, I&#8217;m content to wander the roads of LA, confident that I will eventually find my way to my destination, but when I hit the ocean, that&#8217;s a pretty good sign I&#8217;m going to need help.\u00a0 Luckily, I have very patient people in my life who\u00a0are willing to act as my personal GPS\u00a0systems.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, I went from a barbeque to a magic\u00a0show (sidenote:\u00a0 wore a cocktail dress to the barbeque because\u00a0the magic show venue required formal attire, ended up smelling like barbeque at the magic show because, well, I was at a barbeque).\u00a0\u00a0Six miles and ninety minutes\u00a0(!) later,\u00a0my friend and I finally arrive at the magic show.\u00a0 Thanks to my impeccable sense of direction, we made a wrong turn every\u00a0single time a turn was required.\u00a0 Thanks to the Alicia\u00a0Keys concert at the Hollywood Bowl and the fact that it&#8217;s LA, every\u00a0mistaken turn took an addition 20 minutes to rectify.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, I went shopping.\u00a0 Oddly enough, I did not get lost.\u00a0 I did however\u00a0(*gulp*) buy more shoes.\u00a0\u00a0I blame this particular purchase on one of my shopping buddies, aka The Enabler.\u00a0 They&#8217;re really, really cute though and only kind of impractical and painful.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>P.S.
