{"id":466,"date":"2007-01-02T14:56:06","date_gmt":"2007-01-02T21:56:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/2007\/01\/02\/awwwww\/"},"modified":"2007-01-02T21:34:56","modified_gmt":"2007-01-03T04:34:56","slug":"awwwww","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/2007\/01\/02\/awwwww\/","title":{"rendered":"Awwwww"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Happy New Years everyone!\u00a0 May this year be full of love and happiness.<\/p>\n<p>T and I were discussing our resolutions yesterday.\u00a0 Mine was to exercise more, eat better and spend less.\u00a0 His was to make sure I was happy.\u00a0 Sigh.*<\/p>\n<p>Anyways, T, Roomie and I had a small group of friends over for New Year&#8217;s.\u00a0 Roomie&#8217;s holiday plans were unfortunately canceled at the last minute so she was forced to celebrate it with us.\u00a0 It was supposed to be a casual gathering before we walked to\u00a0a local bar, but Roomie believes in being a good hostess.\u00a0 What had originated as a get together with some beer and pizza turned into a four course meal.\u00a0 Roomie spent much of the weekend\u00a0making dumplings, fudge and cookies &#8211; all from scratch.\u00a0 I &#8220;made&#8221;\u00a0lasagna (i.e., stirring what\u00a0Roomie\u00a0asked me to and\u00a0sneaking off the minute Roomie looked away).\u00a0\u00a0T and I\u00a0bought an assortment of appetizers and sides and our friends\u00a0brought a sea of beverages.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We spent the night eating, drinking and playing\u00a0board games with some of our best friends.\u00a0 T and I had a\u00a0slightly tense moment during Taboo\u00a0&#8211; perhaps our second official &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/2006\/09\/18\/a-perfect-storm\/\">fight<\/a>&#8221; of the year?\u00a0&#8211; related to our competative natures (well,\u00a0his more then mine!)\u00a0but it quickly passed.\u00a0 Taboo has always been one of my favorite games, but it may now\u00a0have some competition.\u00a0 A friend of T&#8217;s gave him what may be the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Apples_to_Apples\">best game of all time<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We ventured out from the apartment around 10pm and\u00a0rung in the New Year&#8217;s at a\u00a0nearby bar.\u00a0 It was\u00a0exactly the environment I wanted, a low-key\u00a0sparsely populated Irish\u00a0pub full of friendly regulars and bar staff and surrounded by some of my favorite, funny people.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>*Note:\u00a0 Sorry for the sap.\u00a0 I couldn&#8217;t resist sharing.\u00a0 =)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy New Years everyone!\u00a0 May this year be full of love and happiness.
