{"id":462,"date":"2006-12-26T10:55:53","date_gmt":"2006-12-26T17:55:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/2006\/12\/26\/christmas-recap\/"},"modified":"2007-02-14T22:42:29","modified_gmt":"2007-02-15T05:42:29","slug":"christmas-recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/2006\/12\/26\/christmas-recap\/","title":{"rendered":"Christmas Recap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Back from my all too short trip home to SJ.\u00a0 The office closed early on Friday so I was able to get home by 3:30.\u00a0 Little Sis had come over earlier in the day and was hanging out with T.\u00a0 We\u00a0spent Friday night hanging out, wrapping presents, and not doing much of anything.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Little Sis\u00a0and I drove to SJ Saturday morning.\u00a0\u00a0Arrived home around 3pm.\u00a0 The Parents were glad to see us, although they\u00a0persisted in asking why T didn&#8217;t come\u00a0with\u00a0us.\u00a0 Apparently, the fact that he wanted to spend Christmas with his own family wasn&#8217;t good enough.\u00a0\u00a0They reluctantly accepted that he wouldn&#8217;t be making a surprise visit &#8211; but only on the condition that he visit\u00a0during\u00a0Lunar New Year in February.\u00a0\u00a0Presumably they want me there too.<\/p>\n<p>Went\u00a0for a 7 mile run Sunday morning.\u00a0 I had meant to do 14 miles but slept in too late.\u00a0 As is, I still scrambled afterwards to meet up with\u00a03\/4ths of the Quad for our annual Christmas gift exchange.\u00a0 We had lunch at J&#8217;s beautiful townhouse (see picture below), decorated cookies, exchanged gifts\u00a0and caught up on each other&#8217;s lives.\u00a0 (T had\u00a0noted that\u00a0my gifts for my Quad friends\u00a0seemed rather impersonal.\u00a0 I pointed out that after some 15+ years of friendship and gift-giving, one runs out of personal gift ideas.)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"224\" alt=\"a2de.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/files\/2006\/12\/a2de.jpg\" width=\"191\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Did dinner at home with the family, including Little Sis and Littlest Sis&#8217;s boyfriends.\u00a0 I think the Parents were thrilled that their nest was full again.\u00a0 I should make it a point to visit more often.<\/p>\n<p>Went for the remainder of\u00a0my 14 mile run Monday morning, dodging ominous looking clouds and\u00a0praying it\u00a0wouldn&#8217;t rain all the while.\u00a0 Realized again how great\u00a0the weather was in LA.\u00a0 Finished just in time to indulge in the feast Little Sis&#8217;s boyfriend prepared for the family (he&#8217;s studying to be a chef and the meal was his Christmas gift).\u00a0 Left for LA Monday night full and happy.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Back from my all too short trip home to SJ.\u00a0 The office closed early on Friday so I was able to get home by 3:30.\u00a0 Little Sis had come over earlier in the day and was hanging out with T.\u00a0 We\u00a0spent Friday night hanging out, wrapping presents, and not doing much of anything.\u00a0\u00a0 Little Sis\u00a0and [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":110,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[171,167,829],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-462","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-friends-family-and-everyone-in-between","category-run-y-run","category-away-from-home"],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/462","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/110"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=462"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/462\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=462"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=462"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=462"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
