I vaguely remember being interesting.\u00a0 You know, reading stuff and watching shows and occasionally even doing stuff?\u00a0 It’s dawned on me recently that I can’t remember the last time I sat down and read a quality book (well, I recently finished\u00a0the first book in a science fiction\/fantasy series Roomie sent me from the UK, but that doesn’t count).\u00a0 Or the last time I read the newspaper.\u00a0 Or the last time I volunteered for a good cause.\u00a0 Sad.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On the other hand, I’m much more informed about celebrity gossip and fashion that I’ve ever been before.\u00a0 Even sadder.<\/p>\n

I promise to become more interesting.\u00a0 Really.\u00a0 I mean it this time<\/a>!<\/p>\n

I blame living in LA a bit and work a lot (as always).\u00a0 Still swamped.\u00a0 Took my first deposition this week.*\u00a0 I was thrown a curveball, but it went better than expected overall.**\u00a0 I think.\u00a0 In any case, I’m glad I survived!\u00a0<\/p>\n

* For my non-lawyer friends, taking a deposition means you arrange for a court reporter to be present while you ask a “witness” (anyone who might have information pertaining to the case) questions.\u00a0 The witness is usually represented by counsel, who is defending the deposition (making objections and whatnot).\u00a0 The witness is usually affiliated with the other party but can sometimes be an uninterested third party.\u00a0<\/p>\n
