{"id":176,"date":"2006-03-14T15:52:29","date_gmt":"2006-03-14T19:52:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/2006\/03\/14\/one-eyed-elephants\/"},"modified":"2006-04-28T00:02:42","modified_gmt":"2006-04-28T07:02:42","slug":"one-eyed-elephants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/2006\/03\/14\/one-eyed-elephants\/","title":{"rendered":"One-Eyed Elephants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a name=\"a587\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I know, I know.\u00a0 I owe y&#8217;all a new post.\u00a0 I actually have one in the works which started out as a cute concept but proved to be too difficult to execute.\u00a0 So, like everything else difficult in my life, I&#8217;ve decided to give up on it.\u00a0 At least for now.<\/p>\n<p>In the meanwhile, you, my loyals readers, will just have to bear with yet another ill-conceived, stream-of-consciousness, random hodgepodge.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Since I&#8217;m sure you&#8217;re all dying to know what purse I currently covet, here it is.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"162\" src=\"http:\/\/media-cyber.law.harvard.edu\/blogs\/static\/sweetpea\/fossilstrawsatchel.jpg\" width=\"175\" border=\"0\" \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Isn&#8217;t\u00a0it great?\u00a0 Can&#8217;t you just see me walking along the beach with it at sunset?\u00a0 I showed\u00a0the purse\u00a0to my sister, who first scoffed\u00a0at the notion that I was contemplating yet another purse purchase, then drooled when she saw it and started emptying out her piggy bank (she&#8217;s a student).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I also really like these shoes:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"148\" src=\"http:\/\/media-cyber.law.harvard.edu\/blogs\/static\/sweetpea\/ptsflat.jpg\" width=\"177\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">I see these resting on my feet as I sip a latte at a cute European cafe.<\/p>\n<p>When not dreaming of trips to the tropics or\u00a0a life of leisure\u00a0in Europe, I&#8217;ve been working.\u00a0 Work&#8217;s been a little crazy recently, everyone&#8217;s stressed out and slightly on edge, and I&#8217;ve been much busier than I&#8217;d like.\u00a0 (Sigh.)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Managed to sneak away from the office long enough to see\u00a0the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ashesandsnow.org\/en\/index.php?page=\/exhibition\/visitor-info.php\">Ashes and Snow<\/a> photography exhibit in Santa Monica this weekend.\u00a0 The photographs were fantastic.\u00a0 The rest of it was&#8230;interesting.\u00a0 There were some great video images\u00a0(mostly humans in repose next to wildlife &#8211; elephants, orangutans, and cheetas, etc.), but the accompanying faux-deep running commentary was kind of crap.\u00a0 To paraphrase, &#8220;In the beginning, elephants used to fly and would sleep with one eye open to watch over us.\u00a0 When you look into the sky, that&#8217;s what you see&#8230;&#8221;\u00a0 (Seriously.)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The marathon&#8217;s this Sunday.\u00a0 (Yay!)\u00a0 I&#8217;m super excited.\u00a0 I just have to avoid injury for the rest of the week!\u00a0 Being tied to my desk should help with that&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Diet&#8217;s going okay.\u00a0 (Eh.)\u00a0\u00a0I actually managed to wear my thin jeans for an extended period of time and not die though.\u00a0 Admittedly, I may have blacked out for a few moments from lack of oxygen.\u00a0 Whatever.\u00a0 Breathing&#8217;s overrated.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, and if you haven&#8217;t tried it &#8211; Starbuck&#8217;s toffee nut latte.\u00a0 (Yum.)\u00a0 Get it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I know, I know.\u00a0 I owe y&#8217;all a new post.\u00a0 I actually have one in the works which started out as a cute concept but proved to be too difficult to execute.\u00a0 So, like everything else difficult in my life, I&#8217;ve decided to give up on it.\u00a0 At least for now.
