It’s funny what creates communities and how that changes over time and with age.\u00a0 In college, we bonded over tv shows and music.\u00a0 In law school, it was classes and law firms.\u00a0 At work, it’s apparently, at least partially,\u00a0shoes.\u00a0 I was talking to two co-workers yesterday when both I and the other co-worker, C, noticed K’s shoes . . .<\/p>\n

Me:\u00a0 “Those are so cute!”<\/p>\n

C:\u00a0 “I love how they compliment that skirt.”<\/p>\n

Me:\u00a0 “Are they Marc Jacob’s?”<\/p>\n

K:\u00a0 “Yeah.\u00a0 I love him.”<\/p>\n

C:\u00a0 [*laughs*] “I was at a friend’s party this weekend when I noticed this girls’s shoes.\u00a0 I asked\u00a0her if they\u00a0were BCBG.\u00a0\u00a0My boyfriend W\u00a0was astonished that\u00a0I recognize them when there are\u00a0thousands of different shoes.\u00a0 Guess I’m not the only one!”<\/p>\n

Yes, this is the kind of in-depth converstation we have at work.\u00a0 In some seriousness, it’s nice when you find commonalities, even when it’s something as innocuous as a preference for certain shoes.<\/p>\n

Speaking of\u00a0shoes, my new black pumps<\/a> are the most comfortable shoes ever.\u00a0 It’s like walking on clouds.\u00a0\u00a0Or on fluffy sheep.\u00a0 I mean, I clearly have to\u00a0order\u00a0them in brown too, right?\u00a0\u00a0 (Um, cause I already did.)\u00a0 Hmm, and maybe another pair in black, for when these become worn out . . .\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
