{"id":140,"date":"2005-12-04T00:32:44","date_gmt":"2005-12-04T04:32:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/2005\/12\/04\/quirks\/"},"modified":"2006-04-28T00:26:20","modified_gmt":"2006-04-28T07:26:20","slug":"quirks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/2005\/12\/04\/quirks\/","title":{"rendered":"Quirks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a name=\"a432\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>First, a running update.\u00a0 Eighteen mile run was great.\u00a0 I was thinking about how much I love our running route.\u00a0 We get to watch a beautiful sunrise over the ocean and follow it as it creeps up on the marina.\u00a0 As the morning progresses, the sky&#8217;s soft pastel palette gives way to a bright blue.\u00a0 And on this particular run, we crossed a low-lying stretch of land surrounded by piercing blue water on both sides.\u00a0 Although it was chillier than usual, we all still showed up before daybreak in our running shorts.\u00a0 Shorts.\u00a0 In December.\u00a0 I really can&#8217;t imagine that there are many better places to train for a marathon.<\/p>\n<p>Second, those of you who know me (i.e., everyone who reads this blog because I force them to and then quiz them about it) know I&#8217;m generally super laid back.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t get stressed easily and I definitely don&#8217;t anger easily.\u00a0 I do however ocasionally obsess over completely mundane and random things.\u00a0 Most recently,\u00a0this lead me to pay\u00a0$33 for a paperback book.\u00a0 It was $33 because I had to have it shipped from Australia.\u00a0 Yup, Australia.\u00a0 It&#8217;s the third book in one of my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0061031127\/qid=1133686209\/sr=8-1\/ref=pd_bbs_1\/102-1327021-0810517?n=507846&amp;s=books&amp;v=glance\">favorite series<\/a>.\u00a0 I picked up the first book in the US.\u00a0 I bought the second one from the UK when I realized there was a year difference in the US\/UK release dates.\u00a0 I purchased the most recent one from Australia because I couldn&#8217;t even wait for the UK release.\u00a0 At this rate, I may have to purchase the next book from Antartica.\u00a0 I&#8217;m estimating that reading this entire series will cost me approximately a million dollars.<\/p>\n<p>Third, I&#8217;ve realized (again) that I should never, ever try to do work from home.
