{"id":1114,"date":"2011-01-02T12:02:50","date_gmt":"2011-01-02T19:02:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/?p=1114"},"modified":"2011-01-02T12:04:41","modified_gmt":"2011-01-02T19:04:41","slug":"year-in-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/2011\/01\/02\/year-in-review\/","title":{"rendered":"Year In Review"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>January: \u00a0Had yearly physical. \u00a0Decided to go off the pill in anticipation of trying for a baby in 3 months (after the marathon and our trip to Italy). \u00a0Anticipated it could take a year or more to be successful.<\/p>\n<p>February: \u00a0Ran the Pasadena marathon, for the first time, with some new friends from my running group. \u00a0Got a decent time. \u00a0Due to the small crowds and the design of the route, T was able to meet me and cheer me on much more often than at the LA marathon.<\/p>\n<p>March: \u00a0Ran the Los Angeles marathon. \u00a0New Stadium to Sea route was awesome and I set a personal record, but I was weirdly tired and felt like crying. \u00a0The reason would become clear next month.<\/p>\n<p>April: \u00a0Found out I was pregnant! \u00a0And then went to Italy at the height of my morning sickness. \u00a0Still managed to have a great time with T.<\/p>\n<p>May: \u00a0Went to Sedona on my sixth annual Quad trip. \u00a0Flight arrived late Friday night, drove two hours through the desert and mountains to get there, and was only there until Sunday afternoon, but hanging out with the Quad is always worth it.<\/p>\n<p>June: \u00a0Turned 32. \u00a0Low key celebration with T. \u00a0Didn&#8217;t feel like making a big deal this year. \u00a0Feeling fat.<\/p>\n<p>July: \u00a0Found out we&#8217;re having a boy. \u00a0Would have been happy with either, but slightly relieved in light of parental pressure (on my side) for a boy.<\/p>\n<p>August: \u00a0Pregnancy pains set in. \u00a0Not a happy camper.<\/p>\n<p>September: \u00a0Finally in the third trimester. \u00a0Went to amazing shower thrown by my sisters in San Jose! \u00a0Got kick-*ss deal on used glider\/ottoman on Craigslist.<\/p>\n<p>October: \u00a0Entering Stay Puft territory. \u00a0Wedding ring no longer fits.<\/p>\n<p>November: \u00a0Attended, and was touched by, shower thrown by co-workers. \u00a0Hosted our first Thanksgiving since I wasn&#8217;t able to travel. \u00a0Had T&#8217;s family over and ordered a meal from Marie Callendar&#8217;s. \u00a0Turned out pretty well considering the minimal effort we were able to put in.<\/p>\n<p>December: \u00a0Had Little Man! \u00a0Hosted my family and T&#8217;s family for Christmas. \u00a0Exhausting \u00a0but so wonderful to have all of our loved ones in the same place &#8211; and to have them meet Baby J.<\/p>\n<p>Most exciting year to date!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>January: \u00a0Had yearly physical. \u00a0Decided to go off the pill in anticipation of trying for a baby in 3 months (after the marathon and our trip to Italy). \u00a0Anticipated it could take a year or more to be successful.
