Where do<br \/>\nthey go?<\/p>\n<p>I have some ideas on the subject, but my<br \/>\ncolleague Barbara Kaye at UT Knoxville and her research partner at<br \/>\nSouthern Illinois<br \/>\nUniversity-Carbondale are trying to be scientific about it.<\/p>\n<p>They conduct an annual online survey that examines<br \/>\nthe motivations for<br \/>\naccessing the Web, weblogs, chat rooms, bulletin boards and other<br \/>\nInternet resources for political information. (The survey has been<br \/>\napproved by the University of Tennessee institutional review board and<br \/>\nis being conducted for academic purposes<br \/>\nonly.)<\/p>\n<p>Knowing that I do <i>not<\/i> say<br \/>\nmuch about politics here, Barb thought my blog might be a way to reach<br \/>\na few readers (and bloggers)  who have broader interests than<br \/>\n<i>just<\/i> politics, such as, say, the Berkman Center<br \/>\nbloggers. <\/p>\n<p>So here&#8217;s Barb, explaining what she&#8217;d<br \/>\nlike:<br \/>\n&#8220;We are specifically looking for individuals who connect<br \/>\nto online<br \/>\npolitical information to fill out our survey. We are wondering if it<br \/>\nwould be possible for you to link to our survey.
