Just spring fever, whimsy, or my brain crashing<br \/>\nafter deadline.&nbsp; Call it aggregated giddiness&#8230; I was trying<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/bloglines.com\">Bloglines<\/a>, the online RSS aggregator, and subscribed to a few too many<br \/>\nfeeds&#8230; &#8220;Bloglines Notifier&#8221; popped up yesterday and told me I had<br \/>\n24,992 messages waiting, just as three friends&#8217; blogs and a couple of<br \/>\ne-mails arrived concerning a silly contest to &#8220;rename&#8221; RSS. <\/p>\n<p>It doesn&#8217;t need to be renamed&#8230; It needs to be SUPPRESSED, and the<br \/>\nsooner the better. As one of my favorite philosophers would say, &#8220;Yow.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow I&#8217;ll avoid the computer altogether. <\/p>\n<p><a href='http:\/\/radio.weblogs.com\/0106327\/2004\/05\/02.html'>Rename RSS &#8220;FRED&#8221;? &#8230;<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>No, I&#8217;m not serious.
