{"id":55,"date":"2004-04-30T14:31:44","date_gmt":"2004-04-30T18:31:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/stepno\/2004\/04\/30\/blog-reporting-questions-who-said-what"},"modified":"2004-04-30T14:31:44","modified_gmt":"2004-04-30T18:31:44","slug":"blog-reporting-questions-who-said-what-and-in-what-voice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/stepno\/2004\/04\/30\/blog-reporting-questions-who-said-what-and-in-what-voice\/","title":{"rendered":"Blog Reporting Questions: Who Said What and in What Voice?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a name='a67'><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We started a good discussion at <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/thursdaymeetings\/\">Berkman<\/a> last night about ways bloggers might give readers more clues about whether they are &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/toy-story.media.mit.edu:9000\/servlet\/pluto?state=3030326964303034383932363030347061676530303757656250616765\">doing journalism<\/a>&#8221; or expressing opinions, or quoting someone else&#8217;s blog, or perhaps writing outright fiction&#8230; My afterthoughts are on my <a href=\"http:\/\/radio.weblogs.com\/0106327\/2004\/04\/30.html#a234\">more verbose blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;doing journalism&#8221; link in that last paragraph goes to a related story in the Melrose Mirror, one of the MIT <a href=\"http:\/\/stringers.media.mit.edu\/\">Silver Stringers<\/a><br \/>\nprojects I pointed to last night when the idea of getting seniors<br \/>\ninto blogging came up. Also relevant to the discussion: Check out the <a href=\"http:\/\/stringers.media.mit.edu\/journalism.htm\">journalism tutorials<\/a> the project created a few years ago, full of good advice from &#8220;old pros&#8221; Jack Driscoll and Don Murray. <\/p>\n<p>One thing Silver Stringers may have lacked is blogging&#8217;s emphasis on<br \/>\nlinkage.
