I’ve returned from Cape Cod and am finally getting back to blogging again. The trip went really well once the weather improved. And the devil dog (Dusty) became a completely different animal once we left the office. She was a perfect angel the rest of the trip. She didn’t bark, she didn’t go to the bathroom in the house, she slept in the bed with me the whole night through and she enjoyed the car rides I took her on.

On Monday afternoon, I brought Rich on his whirlwind tour of Osterville (my hometown…well, home village). We drove along the water, ate at Wimpy’s (where I had my first job as a dishwasher when I was 12 years old), then I drove him through Craigville and into Hyannisport (yes, I brought him to the Kennedy Compund). Finally, while in Hyannis we surprised my childhood friend, Karyn, with a visit. She was great host – despite the comment I’m sure she’ll post here.

On Tuesday, Rich and I drove up to Provincetown (with Dusty, of course). We went to my friend, Heath’s, house and then went out to lunch at Bubula’s. After a few hours of shopping, we returned to my parents and met up with two more friends, Ben and Brad, for dinner at Bobby Byrne’s Pub. We all got different Tuesday Night Blackboard Specials, which came with chocolate pudding for dessert. MMMMMMM! They had dollops of whipped cream on top that made them look like a negative of a nipple.

Finally, on Wednesday we went shopping in Hyannis before picking up my parents that night. By Thursday, I was putting in a half day at work and my mini-vacation was all but a distant memory.

But I do have a trip to Chicago in exactly two weeks. In the mean time, here’s a picture of my shiny balding spot as I walked away at Herring Cove Beach.

 I’m back.
