I was pleasantly surprised to see that I broke even. Normally I get money back, but with selling a condo after living there for under two years, I was expecting to pay thousands in capital gains. Fortunately, that wasn&#8217;t the case. I did get screwed for having Matt on my medical insurance last year because the government considers the insurance additional income and taxes me at a higher rate (as you would for a bonus or lottery winnings). But overall, the fact that I didn&#8217;t owe money was quite a surprise.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Oh, and I took some pictures of Dusty over the weekend while visiting my folks and last night compared them to pictures of her from a year ago. <\/P><br \/>\n<P><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cyber.law.harvard.edu\/blogs\/static\/snarl\/puppy4.jpg\" height=\"307\" width=\"384\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cyber.law.harvard.edu\/blogs\/static\/snarl\/newdusty.jpg\" height=\"386\" width=\"480\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\"><\/P><br \/>\n<P>Wow &#8211; what a difference a year makes.<\/P><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, I got my taxes back last night.
