I usually only see this happen during big events, like when Nike takes over the entire subway system during the Boston Marathon.

Anyway, this whole train was filled with advertisements for a new Budwesier product. From what I could tell, this product was called Be. Actually, the “B” is the capital B from the word Budweiser. The “e” was raised like an exponent – kind of like 3-squared), or in this case B to the e’th power). But as I viewed the advertisement more carefully, this new product is apparently a beer that also has caffeine and, gasp, ginseng! What the hell? That’s the gayest thing I’ve heard in a long time.

When I think of Budweiser, I think of football and pizza. I imagine beer-bellied men with the top button of their pants un-done watching TV on a Lazy-Boy. I don’t imagine people seeking a mix of a light buzz and ginseng…for health!

I tried looking at the Budweiser website but couldn’t find any reference to this product. I don’t know…but I’m sensing that Budweiser is going to have New Coke or Pepsi Clear on their hands.

In other news, the only non-Italian resturant in my neighborhood has apparently closed down! I can’t say I’m surprised. Matt and I used to go there fairly often and more often than not, we’d be the only customers. In fact, the most crowded we’ve ever seen it was one other couple at another table. We just assumed they made their money in deliveries.

Apparently not.

Perhaps they’re just remodeling? I don’t know. It was there yesterday, but when I walked by this morning (despite the big painted letters on the windows spelling “O-P-E-N”), the interior was already torn apart. Sadness. I suppose this is my first negative thing so far in the new year.

Ok, so I was taking the red-line subway home last night and the train I was on had advertisments from only one company (normally there trains are filled with various advertisers and public service announcements).
