It always came out&nbsp; as &#8220;cow&#8221;. The recent talk of mad cow disease resurfacing in the United States reminded me of him. Last I heard, this childhood friend still lived in Osterville (my father ran into him at a hardware store).<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Anyway, the Mad Cow&nbsp;news footage last night showed the identical footage they were showing 3 or 4 years ago when the first Mad Cow scare was taking place. I recall the piece vividly because it showed a cow that kept collapsing because it was unable to stand. I felt horribly for the animal.&nbsp;I know it&#8217;s hypocritical&nbsp;because&nbsp;I wear leather and eat fish and poulty (though I gave up red meat 4 years ago). But I hate seeing animals or people suffer &#8211; especially when they can&#8217;t comprehend what&#8217;s going on.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Oh, and speaking of mad cows, Celine Dion has a new CD out called &#8220;Miracle&#8221;. Apparently, the music is dedicated to, and inspired by, the celebration of&nbsp;children (barf). It&#8217;s so shmaltzy that Q Magazine finished&nbsp;their review of it by referring to the CD as &#8220;aural birth control&#8221;.
