One of the pieces we purchased was an armoire for our computer. It was the same style as the television armoire so it all blended in rather nicely.

However, In February, just days after it was delivered, the computer armoire doors stopped functioning. Specifically, the left door wouldn’t close. It scraped along the bottom (uneven). I called the dealer and they said they’d send somebody out to fix it. Well, I took a day off from work and waited around the house all day for the guy to come. At 4:30 p.m. he called and said he was stuck in traffic in New Hampshire(!!!!!) and wouldn’t be able to make it. But I explained the problem and he said he knew what to do: he said he’d order a brand new door (3-6 weeks) and would then come back to install it.

Fast forward to the end of July (5 months later). The dealer says the door is finally in. They schedule it for delivery the day before the Democratic National Convention…when our street is closed to traffic, there are barricades out front, and there are men with rifles are on our roof. Needless to say, we reschedule.

The guy comes in today, looks at it and says,”it looks uneven”. All he did was put one hand on each side of the top/front corner of the armoire and twist a bit. It all evened out.

Boy, do I feel stupid, even I could have done that. However, since I waited so long, I still made the guy swap out the old door.

Oh, and Dusty was dropped off this morning to get fixed. The vet said to call back at 1PM to find out when I could pick her up. I called a few minutes ago and he said she’s doing fine and I can pick her up anytime after 3PM. While she was getting fixed, he installed this doggie-Lojack type thing where a computer chip is inserted under her skin so she can be identified if lost or stolen. Clever.

The funniest thing is that the vet said she’s doing extremely well physically, but that she cries if the vet’s assistant leaves her side for even one second. His exact words were “she’s the biggest baby.” Now, many of you faithful readers may recall the dog trainers nicknaming her “Queen Bitch” a few months back. I’m sensing a pattern here…and I think Matt and I created this little monster. I have the feeling this is going to be a long, long weekend.

When Matt and I bought our second condo back in January of this year, we also purchased new furniture to fill it up (a 32 foot long living room area looks empty with only a sofa and a floor lamp).
