I can’t imagine being any closer. As it is, if feels to me like I’m looking at some sort of lab experiment gone wrong through a microscope. Ugh. I suspect the dinner photography may come to it’s demise much sooner than I had ever expected.

On a less self-critical note, last night’s party was fun. Matt and I, as usual, were the first ones there. I’m really enjoying living in the heart of the city again (after having lived in Salem, MA for 2+ years). This party was the kind of thing we would have declined in our suburban days. But yesterday, it was simply a 10-minute aromatic walk away to the other side of the North End. I can’t wait until the summer feasts.

This morning I was watching the Travel Channel and they had an episode of Great Hotels that focused on Chatham Bars Inn on Cape Cod (close to where I was raised). Then this afternoon we saw a low-budget film called “Made Up” at the Copley Cinema. It was directed by Tony Shaloub (from “Wings” and “Monk” for you TV fans) and it took place in Massachusetts. I love seeing the places I live (or have lived) on TV and in movies. It doesn’t happen near enough since it’s so expensive to film here.

Anyway, here’s tonight’s dinner: brown sugar & maple ham with asparagus risotto and broccoli.

“040314 ham reduced”

I think I need to take some classes on digital photography and web-design.
