I walked back in time 19 years last night. There are a few high school friends that I’ve stayed in touch with over the years. I see some more frequently than offers – depending on what’s going on in our lives at the time. Last night, after having not seen each other in nearly a year, I met up with Cookie (real name, Catherine) for dinner. She’s the Director of Undergraduate Admissions of Simmons College and I’m at Harvard so we chose to meet up at Copley Place – somewhere (sort of) in the middle.<\/P>
\n

I arrived a few minutes early and sat by the 4-story waterfall reading a magazine and checking out the crowds. Then I saw Cookie approaching…and she was 5.5 months pregnant! This will be child number two for her and her husband. We embraced and then headed off to Legal Seafoods where I stupidly over-indulged on their yummy dinner rolls and a calamari appetizer. By the time the entree’s arrived, I was barely able to finish 1\/2 of my fish, brocolli or mashed potato. This is a problem I tend to run into quite frequently. I’m heading out to dinner with Rich, Ben and Brad tonight (happy birthday, Rich) and will need to remember NOT to order an appetizer for myself.<\/P>

Anyway, it was fun catching up with Cookie and we’re hoping to do it again soon (before she takes maternity leave and won’t be in the city for 3 months).<\/P>

When I returned home last night I had planned to bake some brownies for Thanksgiving. But we all know how un-motivated I am. Maybe I’ll do it tonight after dinner with the boyz (yeah right – who am I kidding).<\/P>

Has anybody seen the newspaper ad for Handel’s Messiah? It always makes me laugh: you know how religious zealots walk around with sandwich boards in front of them (usually with a ribbon\/rope going around the neck so the sign hangs on their front and\/or back) saying stuff like “The world is ending” or “Gays go to Hell”? Well, the ad shows a pseudo religious zealot on the street with such a sign saying the “Messiah is Coming”. But it’s, in fact, advertising the performance at Symphony hall. he he.
