After that posting, I received loads of emails and phone calls from people telling me I&#8217;m over-reacting.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Well, here&#8217;s additional proof.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>As I blogged about yesterday and the day before, I had a fabulous weekend. A great time from beginning to end and probably one of the best weekends I&#8217;ve had in ages. Of course, I should have know where that would lead.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>On Monday I heard from my Mom. First she tells me that my sister-in-law&#8217;s grandfather died on Sunday. This is the same sister-in-law who&#8217;s daughter (my niece) died in September and who was also diagnosed herself with the same disease and is now confined to a wheelchair. Ugh. I didn&#8217;t know her grandfather very well&#8230;but did see him frequently during family gatherings (holidays, weddings, birthdays).<\/P><br \/>\n<P>But it gets worse. Then my Mom tells me that on Monday, my aunt died. She&#8217;d been in a nursing home for years and put up a long fight with various medical issues.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>I&#8217;ve come to the conclusion that my enjoyment comes at other people&#8217;s expense &#8211; plain and simple. I&#8217;m cursed. The more fun I have, the more carnage that follows. I guess the safest things for all of my friends and family is to hang around with me at all times.
