Nah, I’m not talking about being a performer. I’m talking about managing ones own iPod. Life was so much simpler with my old Mini. The screen was broken so all I\u00a0could do\u00a0was “shuffle.” That eliminated a lot of unecessary stress. The Mini also had on 4GB of memory so I could only carry roughly 1,000 songs. Consequently, I only burned my favorite songs off of my CD’s. That way, it only played songs I loved and wanted to hear.<\/p>\n
When I upgraded to the 30GB iPod, I had 7.5 times as much space to put music. I then went back into my CD collection and imported every song from every CD I owned (instead of just my favorites). This filled up nearly 60% of the iPod’s memory. Great.<\/p>\n
But now I’m running into problems:<\/p>\n
1 – the damn thing keeps playing songs I don’t like<\/p>\n
2 – it takes forever to scroll from ’til Tuesday (which shows up as the first artist in alphabetical order because of the apostrophe) to the letter “T” where\u00a0the chunk\u00a0of my favorite artists can be found (Texas, The The, Tiny Lights, This Mortal Coil, Tori Amos, Transvision Vamp, Tammy Wynette, Tribe, etc…).<\/p>\n
So, I keep going back and sifting through the 5,000+ songs to remove the ones I don’t particularly care to hear. It’s like an on-going night job. Remove this, add this, re-classify this. You know what? I don’t think we should have to buy iPods….I think Apple should PAY us because of all the work involved in using them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
