After eating lunch on M Street, we drove through the mall and around the historic sites for a while. I must say, although I don’t find Washington, DC to be awful, it’s not what I expected. I knew that there were building height restrictions so I wasn’t expecting monumentality in height, but I was expecting it as an over-powering presence of grand buildings. SO far I’ve not seen that. We’re hoping to go to the Holocaust Museum tomorrow (Monday). Maybe when I walk around the area it will strike me. But for now, I’m not sensing the grandness I’ve always heard about. It also doesn’t help that half the city is barricaded because of this week’s inauguration.

Then last night, we went to the DC Eagle for a few hours. Apparently, we were quite the stiking pair because one of the local gay papers asked us if we’d be willing to have out picture taken for the paper. So, snap, snap (and 10 minutes of flash-bulb blindness later), we may be in print next week for all the world to see (OK, all of the DC community). I think they chose us because Chris ironed the letters “V-O-Y-E-U-R” onto the chest of my illegally tight t-shirt. Chris is going to keep his eye out for the next edition and will mail it to me (unles our picture doesn’t make it in the paper). I hope to post it here!

Today we’re off to brunch, and then to the MAL Exhibition Center. I’m not sure what will follow. All in all, I’m have a great time!

Such fun!
