The answer:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Suggested route:<br \/>\n<strong><big>I-90 E<\/big> \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <big>19,456 mi, 523 hours<\/big><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><big>Driving directions to Amherst, MA, USA<\/big><br \/>\nThis route has tolls.<br \/>\nThis route includes a car transport.<br \/>\nThis route includes a ferry.<br \/>\nThis route may have road closures.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The &#8220;<strong>E<\/strong>&#8221; in &#8220;I-90 E&#8221; was the first indication that something was wrong.  Then I digested the distance and time&#8230; and scrolled down a few pages.  Now any route planning that takes you literally <strong>more than halfway \\<\/strong> around the world had better take in some amazing sights along the way. Luckily, this was the case.<\/p>\n<p>The map knew where I was heading, but decided I started in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Boston,_Lincolnshire\">Boston, Lincolnshire<\/a> in the UK. And then decided I would want to travel the long way round: West.
