Self-help law pioneer <\/font>Nolo Press<\/font><\/a>\u00a0began broadcasting <\/font>Nolo Presents the Law in Plain English<\/font><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0on January 2, 2006, and added its 42nd podcast over the weekend — <\/font>When Can You ‘Stand Your Ground’?<\/font><\/a>, an interview with criminal law expert Paul Bergman, author of “The Criminal Law Handbook<\/em>,” (Nolo).\u00a0\u00a0The podcast\u00a0focuses on “stand your ground” laws — statutes that permit citizens to defend themselves with deadly force.<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"iPod\"\u00a0 Nolo’s podcast series “offers interviews and lectures with authors and other legal experts. Topics include estate planning, wills, trusts, divorces, contracts, hiring a lawyer, copyrights, trademarks, patents, personal injury, bankruptcy and similar topics.”\u00a0 Many of the broadcasts are by lawyers who have written Nolo self-help\u00a0“best sellers,”\u00a0such as David Pressman, Stephen Elias, Katherine Stoner, Mary Randolph, Richard Stim and Lisa Guerin. <\/font><\/font><\/font>The series already includes a broad array of topics — with issues relating to individual family and financial problems (like Understanding Special Education Laws<\/font><\/a>, Divorce Without Court<\/font><\/a>, The New Bankruptcy Law<\/font><\/a>, and Dog Law<\/font><\/a>), landlords and tenants (Screening Tenants Legally<\/a>), and starting a new business or marketing an idea or invention (What Licenses and Permits are Needed to Start a New Business?<\/a>, Corporations and LLCs<\/font><\/a>). <\/font><\/font>\u00a0 Check the entire list<\/a>, because there is much more. <\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

\"NoloLogo\"\u00a0shlep<\/em> suggests Do You Need a Lawyer?<\/font><\/a>, an interview with Nolo founder Jake Warner, author of “Everybody’s Guide to Small Claims Court<\/em>” (Nolo), which\u00a0gives Jake’s perspective on\u00a0when a nonlawyer can handle a legal matter and discusses the current state of the legal self-help movement.<\/font><\/font><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
