Pro-league Beach Tennis World Cup 2012 Florida



The event on the Beach Tennis Tour in Deerfield Beach, Florida saw the best men’s and women’s from around the world battling it out to be crowned 2012 Beach Tennis World Cup Champions.

Aruba dominated last year’s Beach Tennis World Cup and faced increased competition as they bid to hold on to their titles this year, with a record number of 23 nations contest the event. The sport of Beach Tennis is progressively becoming further trendy worldwide, with multiple international Beach Tennis World Cups being held annually around the world.

This year’s 4th annual World Cup Tournament was held on the scenic Florida beach next to the beautiful pier of Deerfield Beach, home of the IFBT-USA (International Federation of Beach Tennis USA) training centre. The event hosted players from different countries each competing for trophies and prize money.

Sabrina Kierberg is a tennis athlet and loves sand and the beach, particularly around Florida’s Beaches where she grew up with crystal clear water, clean sand and beautiful coast lines. The Floridian’s are nice and outgoing people and Sabrina has been fortunate living and training tennis in Florida. This was her first Beach Tennis Tournament and her first World Cup. Sabrina commented that she won the 3rd. place at the World Cup with having a lot of fun, supported by her friends and she thinks, that Beach Tennis is a great sport.

Beach tennis is very social and a lot of fun.

Start source – It is related to beach volleyball but played with a tennis ball and paddle or racket. The court is a standard beach volleyball court that is 30 feet wide and 60 feet long. There is a center line that splits the court lengthwise. At the center of the court, there is a 5-foot-10-inch-high (1.78 m) net. Most likely beach tennis was played at a yearly tournament, for the first time in 1988, at the beach of Grado, Italy. Beach Tennis could become a popular team sport for students all over the world. There are more and more opportunities for students to play beach tennis. Beach tennis can be played with two players on each team and players do not need to be trained athlets.
