It may seep into our lungs, but it shall not <\/em><br \/>\n<em> choke our noble cry to &#8220;Stomp out Nicotine forever!&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>No shortage of hyperbole:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><em>&#8220;Lucius Cooper, chief military expert of the No-<\/em><br \/>\n<em> Nicotine Alliance, \u2014says &#8220;I am convinced that the war would<\/em><br \/>\n<em> have ended a year sooner if our troops had not used tobacco.<\/em><br \/>\n<em> Only the fact that the Germans were also tobacco-drugged, it<\/em><br \/>\n<em> being well-known that they smoke huge pipes with china bowls,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> prevented them from victory over us.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><em>&#8220;But that any girl or lady, in the flush of health, should deliberately<\/em><br \/>\n<em> put to her red lips the Judas kiss of Nicotine, gives us<\/em><br \/>\n<em> pause.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><em>&#8220;The smoker is a bad citizen. He is a public nuisance, offending<\/em><br \/>\n<em> his fellow-men. He should be sent to Coventry, or jail. This is<\/em><br \/>\n<em> a &#8220;job&#8221; for our gallant blue-coated police everywhere.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><em>&#8220;But the worst of it is the smoky air that hangs about a house<\/em><br \/>\n<em> where a habitual smoker hangs about. It gets into the lungs of<\/em><br \/>\n<em> the whole family, prejudicing them to all kinds of diseases. It<\/em><br \/>\n<em> makes it impossible for them to enjoy the pure air, the smells of<\/em><br \/>\n<em> fair flowers, rubber plants, and ferns, the dainty perfumes that<\/em><br \/>\n<em> mother sprays about her boudoir, the tantalising taste of good<\/em><br \/>\n<em> cooking in the kitchen.
