One way or the other, there was acceptance of the impossibility of returning to the \u201cGolden Time of the 1980\u2019s.\u201d  <\/p>\n<p>More controversially there seemed pretty substantial consensus that even if we could turn back the clock, we should not because the benefits of this transition exceed its costs.
