\nRebecca:<\/strong> also, i’ve been thinking about whether it would be a good idea to try to incorporate little second life trial advocacy exercises into your evidence class this winter.
\ni think it would be a good idea.

\nRebecca:<\/strong> i think we could do them in ames and possibly make them public events sometimes, so that people could come watch but not say anything.
\nlike going to a real court argument.

\nRebecca:<\/strong> i think it is going to be ok.
\nthere are a couple of sites out to get him in a very venomous way who have been doing this since the beginning.
\ngawker<\/a> and idolator<\/a> are run by the same people, same audience.
\ngawker<\/a> is the politics arm and idolator<\/a> the music arm, so nick ends up on both.
\nthere has been interesting discussion on wayneandwax.com, our wiki, a little on a blog at blackmail.com.
\nnot everything is anti-nice.
\nnick.
\ni think it is interesting that ivy gate<\/a> feels it fair to cut the argument down in that way. i don’t think you actually hold the opinion they are trying to hand to you.
\nand i think nick spoke really well and convincingly in class.
\ni don’t think he is worse off after this, except that it kicks up a little dust.

\ni think he’s going to do a talk with another ethnomusicologist about open access scholarship and copyright issues.
\nthe other guy is anthony mcann.
\napparently interested in ways that academic discourse can happen without the need for people flying all over the world to conferences wasting lots of carbon.
