{"id":1374,"date":"2004-01-19T15:07:04","date_gmt":"2004-01-19T19:07:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/nateptest\/2004\/01\/19\/my-own-story\/"},"modified":"2004-01-19T15:07:04","modified_gmt":"2004-01-19T19:07:04","slug":"my-own-story","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/natep\/2004\/01\/19\/my-own-story\/","title":{"rendered":"My own story"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a name='a228'><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For a few months now, I&#8217;ve been thinking about posting a fairly<br \/>\npersonal essay here, one that freely gives up some of the details of my<br \/>\nlife, an essay that talk about my coming out and coming in as a gay and<br \/>\nspiritual person.&nbsp; I rarely talk about the details of my inner<br \/>\nlife in such detail here, keeping a fairly firm wall around parts of my<br \/>\npersonal life in this forum.<\/p>\n<p>Also, since the Times put up a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2004\/01\/30\/national\/30MARR.html\">story this morning on why some gay people are seeking marriages in the church<\/a>, even if the state doesn&#8217;t recognize their unions, it seemed appropriate to put this up for now.&nbsp; Best quote there:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>It is a perennial complaint among members of the clergy that many<br \/>\nstraight couples regard the chapel as little more than a stage set for<br \/>\na picture-perfect wedding.
