{"id":1180,"date":"2005-04-30T13:40:02","date_gmt":"2005-04-30T17:40:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/nateptest\/2005\/04\/30\/worst-pub-ever\/"},"modified":"2005-04-30T13:40:02","modified_gmt":"2005-04-30T17:40:02","slug":"worst-pub-ever","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/natep\/2005\/04\/30\/worst-pub-ever\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Worst Pub Ever&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a name='a1018'><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We went out for dinner last night, to a local pub named Bukowski&#8217;s that<br \/>\nI had heard good things about.&nbsp; It was so dreadful that I posted<br \/>\nthis review to several art and entertainment sites.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div>Miserable, miserable food.&nbsp; I&#8217;ve been to a lot of pubs, and<br \/>\nthis one was the worst.&nbsp; I had the &#8220;Buk&#8221; sandwich &#8212; dry turkey,<br \/>\ninoffensively bland cheese, Wonder-quality bread, and french fries (*in<br \/>\nthe sandwich*).&nbsp; The burger was only average.&nbsp; And although<br \/>\nthe beer selection was good, the price was about a buck higher than<br \/>\nother local places; the beer did have about an inch of head, and in<br \/>\nsome countries, that much head is against the law.&nbsp; Combined with<br \/>\nthe noise &#8212; music as loud as a rock concert, but I didn&#8217;t enjoy<br \/>\nmyself&#8211;I would have preferred to stay home and have Cheerios for<br \/>\ndinner.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div>Service was so-so.&nbsp; We had three different servers in our<br \/>\nhour there. They weren&#8217;t bad, but not exactly attentive, either.&nbsp;<br \/>\nit took a while to get anything.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div>You can get much better than this for the same money.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t mention that there&#8217;s a double irony in a generic-upscale,<br \/>\ncatering-to-the-wrong-PBR-crowd (sorry, Andrew, but I think you would<br \/>\nhave been offended by $4-5 cans and bottles of PBR, Ballantine, and<br \/>\nLone Star) naming itself after a man who spent his life in dive bars<br \/>\nand loathing the clientele of his namesake pub.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We went out for dinner last night, to a local pub named Bukowski&#8217;s that I had heard good things about.&nbsp; It was so dreadful that I posted this review to several art and entertainment sites.
