That such a statement by the Minister of Justice, who is the public prosecutor’s superior, would strengthen neither the public prosecutor’s motivation to investigate the case nor the readiness of witnesses to make any further statements is obvious. Such behavior during an ongoing investigation borders on obstruction of justice or the crime of aiding the perpetrator or perpetrators of an offense by preventing their prosecution.”

Sincerely yours,

Robert John Bennett

Ernst-Gnoss-Strasse 22

40219 Dusseldorf

Germany

Telephone: +49 211 586 4847

Mobile: +49 152 0285 4626

E-Mail: rjbennett@post.harvard.edu

Kantelberg-Abdulla E-Mail: majoskant@t-online.de

Websites: http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/MunichLetters

http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/Germany2/

——————————————————–

Since many recipients of this letter may read German more easily than they read English, the following is the author’s translation of the above letter.
