Dear Mr. Graf, dear friends,<\/p>\n

Last week Francesca read to us a portion of the transcript of another judicial interrogation in the matter of the investigation into the death of the child Joseph Abdulla. The witness was a young boy from Sebnitz, Daniel Steiner. The transcript has the Dresden district court file number 270 Gs 3141\/00 414 Js 53329\/00; the interrogation was carried out on 21 November 2000, at ten o\u2019clock in the morning.<\/p>\n

Francesca continued with the reading from the point where she had ended last week:<\/p>\n

In response to a question by Inspector Krebs about why they had done such a bad thing to Joseph: \u201cBecause he was a foreigner.\u201d<\/p>\n

In response to a question about whether they had said something along that line in the swimming pool: \u201cYes. \u2018You shit foreigner, we\u2019re going to kill you\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

In response to a question by Inspector Krebs about who had said that: \u201cSandro Richter.\u201d<\/p>\n

In response to a question by Inspector Krebs about whether it was difficult to get Abdulla out of the pool: \u201cWe went down to the bottom. I dived down. Then we brought him up and he lay face down, lifeless. We brought him up and then out. Like this, in our arms, and then we pulled him out.\u201d<\/p>\n

In response to a question by Inspector Krebs about who came there first: \u201cWe moved away, and then Ronny Siebert came, and then the swimming pool attendant and then Goldschmidt and the ambulance.\u201d<\/p>\n

In response to a question by Inspector Krebs about what Ute had put in the lemonade, about what the test tube looked like: \u201cThe little bottle had a cap. I can\u2019t say if it was already open. I think she opened it. The bottle was brown. It was a little shorter than this plastic cup. It was thinner than this plastic cup.\u201d<\/p>\n

In response to a question by Inspector Krebs about whether he knew what the drink \u201cSchnappsbulli\u201d was: \u201cNo, it wasn\u2019t that.\u201d<\/p>\n

In response to a question by Inspector Krebs about whether he knew what a little medicine bottle looked like: \u201cIt could have been something like that. It didn\u2019t have a pipette at the top.\u201d<\/p>\n

In response to a question by Inspector Krebs about whether the cap was also brown: \u201cMaybe black.\u201d<\/p>\n

In response to a question by Inspector Krebs about whether the witness himself saw Ute put that in the cup: \u201cYes. You can definitely see that. I saw that.<\/p>\n

In response to a question by Inspector Krebs about whether Joseph had acted unusual after that: \u201cHe staggered. That was because of the stuff, for sure. He was in a daze.\u201d<\/p>\n

In response to a question by Inspector Krebs about how long that had lasted: \u201cYou noticed it a little later. Joseph was positively carried to the edge of the pool. Joseph in the middle and the other two. I don\u2019t know which of the two was walking where, who was on the left and who was on the right. Ute stayed by the kiosk.\u201d<\/p>\n

Es war das Protokoll noch einer richterlichen Zeugenvernehmung in der Todesermittlugnssache des Kindes Joseph Abdulla, Gesch\u00e4ftszeichen des Amtsgerichts Dresden: 270 Gs 3141\/00 414 Js 53329\/00, am 21.11.2000 um 10.00 Uhr durchgef\u00fchrt.<\/p>\n

Sie fuhr mit dem Vorlesen fort, wo sie letzte Woche aufgeh\u00f6rte:<\/p>\n

Wir kamen bis zum Grund runter. Ich bin runter getaucht. Dann haben wir ihn hoch geholt und er lag schon mit dem Bauch zum Boden zu, leblos. Wir brachten ihn hoch und dann raus. Einfach so an die Arme und dann rausgezogen.<\/p>\n

Auf Frage KHK Krebs, wer als erstes dazu kam:<\/p>\n

Wir haben uns entfernt und dann kam der Ronny Siebert schon und dann die Bademeisterin und dann der Goldschmidt and dann der Krankenwagen.<\/p>\n

Auf Frage KHK Krebs, was die Ute da rein getan hat in die Limonade, wie das Reagensglas aussah:<\/p>\n

Das Gl\u00e4schen hatte einen Verschluss. Ich kann nicht mehr sagen, ob es schon offen war. Ich vermute, dass sie es auf gemacht hat. Das Gef\u00e4\u00df war braun. Es war etwas kleiner, als die Plastetrinkbecher hier. Es war schmaler als die Trinkbecher hier.<\/p>\n

Auf Frage KHK Krebs, ob er eine \u201eSchnappsbulli\u201c kennt:<\/p>\n

Nein, so etwas war nicht.<\/p>\n

Auf Frage KHK Krebs, ob er ein Medizinfl\u00e4schen kennt:<\/p>\n

So etwas k\u00f6nnte es gewesen sein. Es hatte keine Pipette oben drauf.<\/p>\n

Auf Frage KHK Krebs, ob der Verschluss auch braun war:<\/p>\n

Eventuell schwarz.<\/p>\n

Auf Frage KHK Krebs, ob der Zeuge selber gesehen hat, dass die Ute das in den Becher getan hat:<\/p>\n

Ja. Das sieht man einwandfrei. Ich habe das gesehen.<\/p>\n

Auf Frage KHK Krebs, ob sich der Joseph danach ungew\u00f6hnlich verhalten hat:<\/p>\n

Er hat geschwankt. Das ist bestimmt durch das Zeug gewesen. Der war benebelt.<\/p>\n

Auf Frage KHK Krebs, wie lange das gedauert hat:<\/p>\n

Ein bisschen sp\u00e4ter hat man das gemerkt. Der Joseph wurde f\u00f6rmlich getragen an den Beckenrand. Der Joseph in der Mitte und die beiden. Ich wei\u00df nicht, wer wo gelaufen ist von den beiden, wer rechts und wer links. Die Ute blieb an dem Stand.<\/p>\n
