Dear Mr. Graf, dear friends,<\/p>\n

Continuation of the letter from last week:<\/p>\n

Francesca went on reading Rene May\u2019s sworn statement: \u201c\u2019I saw with my own eyes that there were also about fifteen rightists with combat boots and shaved heads standing in front of the Dr. Petzold Swimming Pool.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Francesca smiled grimly. \u201cI think the word \u2018neo-Nazis\u2019 would be more appropriate than \u2018rightists,\u2019 but \u2018rightists\u2019 is the word used in the transcript.\u201d She went on reading, \u201c\u2019In answer to Frau Kantelberg\u2019s question about whether I saw if the rightists were carrying weapons or cell phones, I have to say I don\u2019t know, because they were wearing leather jackets with pockets, the kind bomber pilots used to wear. These jackets have a pocket on the upper left sleeve, a pocket on the lower left side of the jacket, a pocket on the inside left and on the inside right, and a pocket outside on the right front. In answer to the question about how I saw the rightists outside, I was standing at Thalheim\u2019s snack stand, on the side, and from there I could see them standing at the main gate, near the ticket window, in front of the Dr. Petzold Swimming Pool.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Hans interrupted Francesca. \u201cBut earlier the boy had said that he and his brother had \u2018lain down near the hedge, diagonally across from the control room, near the shallow water.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYes,\u201d Francesca replied, \u201cbut he doesn\u2019t say that in this sworn statement. So can we perhaps assume that that was at some later point in time? Earlier, he was standing near Thalheim\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hans said nothing, and Francesca continued, \u201c\u2019In answer to Frau Kantelberg\u2019s question about how old these rightists were, they were as old as the rightists who were inside the swimming pool.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd who were these \u2018rightists who were inside\u2019?\u201d asked Hans skeptically. \u201cI suppose they were the thirty or forty rightists that all of Germany was laughing about as a product of the boy\u2019s imagination.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo,\u201d said Francesca, very patiently, \u201cthese rightists were the small group that the boy has already mentioned, the ones who killed Joseph. Whether the thirty or forty \u2018rightists\u2019 \u2013 or more precisely, neo-Nazis \u2013 were on the swimming pool grounds is unlikely. As I\u2019ve already said, they too were probably outside.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then she went on reading the statement, \u201c\u2019In answer to Frau Kantelberg\u2019s question about whether I know the names of the rightists who were standing outside, I don\u2019t know. When Frau Kantelberg asks if I know the names of some of the rightists who were in the swimming pool, I know some of them, for example Maik Hauke, Sandro Richter, Ronny Siebert had contact with rightists, for example with Oliver. Oliver teaches in Neustadt. Besides, these rightists were also in the swimming pool that day: Antonio Keleman and his older brother. There were several rightists from outside Sebnitz in the swimming pool. I never saw these rightists before. All I knew was that they were rightists, because they came into the swimming pool with their combat boots and shaved heads. When the swimming pool personnel saw that there were so many of them in the swimming pool and standing in front of the swimming pool, they backed off. Frau Kantelberg asks, \u201cWhat does \u2018back off\u201d mean? Did they hide below the window ledge?\u201d I say, \u201cNo, they backed off into the next room.\u201d Frau Kantelberg asks, \u201cWhat does \u2018into the next room\u2019 mean?\u201d I say, \u201cThat\u2019s a room where the towels are. It\u2019s part of the room where they sell tickets, a room that\u2019s partly divided up. Back there is where the woman who sells tickets hid. She was at the window at first, and then she was gone. She behaved normally, and not as if she was afraid.\u201d\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Well, I\u2019m an old man, and I don\u2019t know what to make of all these names and details. More intelligent people than I will have to try to make something of it all, if they can.<\/p>\n

Francesca fuhr fort, Rene Mays eidesstattliche Versicherung vorzulesen: \u201e,Ich habe mit eigenen Augen gesehen, dass vor dem Dr.-Petzold-Bad auch rund f\u00fcnfzehn Rechte mit Springerstiefeln und mit Glatzen standen\u2019\u201c.<\/p>\n

Francesca l\u00e4chelte grimmig. \u201eIch glaube, das Wort \u201aNeonazi\u2019 w\u00e4re passender als \u201aRechte\u2019, aber \u201aRechte\u2019 steht im Protokoll.\u201c Sie fuhr fort zu lesen: \u201e,Auf die Frage von Frau Kantelberg, ob ich gesehen h\u00e4tte, ob die Rechten Waffen dabei gehabt h\u00e4tten oder Handys, muss ich antworten, ich wei\u00df es nicht, da die Rechten B-Jacken hatten mit Taschen, eine Tasche oben links am \u00c4rmel, eine unten links auf der Jacke, eine innen drinnen links und eine Taschen rechts drinnen und eine Tasche rechts drau\u00dfen. Auf die Frage, wieso ich auch die Rechten drau\u00dfen gesehen h\u00e4tte, antworte ich: \u201eIch stand bei Thalheim\u2019s an der Seite, von dort konnte ich die Rechten, die am Tor, in der N\u00e4he vom Kartenschalter, vor dem Dr.-Petzold-Bad standen, sehen\u201c\u2019\u201c.<\/p>\n

Hans unterbrach Francesca, \u201eAber fr\u00fcher hat der Junge gesagt, dass er und seine Bruder \u201ahaben an der Hecke, schr\u00e4g gegen\u00fcber dem Kontrollraum zum flachen Wasser gelegen\u2019\u201c.<\/p>\n

\u201eJa\u201c, erwiderte Francesca, \u201eaber Rene erkl\u00e4rt das in dieser eidesstattlichen Aussage nicht. Also k\u00f6nnen wir vielleicht davon ausgehen, dass das um einen sp\u00e4teren Zeitpunkt war? Fr\u00fcher stand er bei Thalheim\u2019s\u201c.<\/p>\n

Hans sagte nichts, und Francesca fuhr fort, \u201e,Auf die Frage von Frau Kantelberg, wie alt diese Rechten gewesen w\u00e4ren, antworte ich: \u201eAuch so alt wie die Rechten drinnen\u201c\u2019\u201c.<\/p>\n

\u201eUnd wer war diese ,Rechten drinnen\u2019?\u201c fragte Hans skeptisch. \u201eAngeblich waren sie die drei\u00dfig oder vierzig Rechten, \u00fcber die ganz Deutschland als eine Erfindung gelacht hat.\u201c<\/p>\n

\u201eNein\u201c, sagte Francesca mit gro\u00dfer Geduld, \u201ediese Rechten waren die kleine Gruppe, \u00fcber die Rene schon gesprochen hat, diejenigen, die Joseph ermordet haben. Ob die drei\u00dfig oder vierzig \u201aRechten\u2019 \u2013 oder genauer gesagt Neonazis \u2013 auf dem Badegel\u00e4nde waren, ist unwahrscheinlich. Wie ich schon gesagt haben, waren sie auch zweifelsohne drau\u00dfen\u201c.<\/p>\n

Dann fuhr sie fort, die eidesstattliche Aussage vorzulesen, \u201e,Auf die Frage von Frau Kantelberg, ob ich einige von diesen Rechten, die drau\u00dfen standen, mit Namen kennen w\u00fcrde, antworte ich, ich kenne sie nicht. Auf die Frage von Frau Kantelberg, ob ich einige von den Rechten, die drinnen im Schwimmbad waren, mit Namen kennen w\u00fcrde, antworte ich: \u201eIch kenne einige, z.B. Maik Hauke, Sandro Richter; Ronny Siebert hat Kontakt zu Rechten, z.B. zum Oliver. Oliver lernt in Neustadt bei der IB. Weiter waren an diesem Tag im Schwimmbad folgende Rechte da: Antonio Keleman mit seinem \u00e4lterem Bruder. Es waren mehrere Rechte von au\u00dferhalb Sebnitz in Schwimmbad. Ich habe diese Rechten vorher nie gesehen. Ich wu\u00dfte nur, dass sie Rechte waren, weil sie mit Springerstiefeln reinkamen und Glatzk\u00f6pfe hatten. Als das Aufsichtspersonal sah, dass so viele Rechte im Schwimmbad und vor dem Schwimmbad standen, haben sie sich zur\u00fcckgezogen.\u201c Auf die Frage von Frau Kantelberg: \u201eWas hei\u00dft zur\u00fcckziehen, haben sie sich hinter Fensterbank versteckt?\u201c, antworte ich: \u201eNee, sie haben sich ins Nebenzimmer zur\u00fcckgezogen\u201c. Frage von Frau Kantelberg: \u201eWas hei\u00dft ins Nebenzimmer?\u201c, antworte ich: \u201eDas ist ein Raum, wo die Handt\u00fccher drinnen sind, er liegt im Kartenverkaufsraum, der zum Teil unterteilt ist. Dahinter hat sich die Kartenverk\u00e4uferin versteckt. Sie war erst am Fenster und dann war sie weg. Sie wirkte normal und nicht \u00e4ngstlich\u201c\u2019\u201c.<\/p>\n

Na ja, ich bin ein alter Mann und ich kann einfach nicht viel mit all diesen Namen und Einzelheiten anfangen. Das m\u00fcssen klugere Menschen als ich tun.<\/p>\n
