The needs analysis identified the following: enabling the audience to adapt and refine instructional methods for diverse learners and settings; sourcing and evaluating public domain materials; improving assessment design; and building cross-cultural competence.

The Solution

After careful analysis with various stakeholders in company and research on employee mentoring best practices, I created the company-wide “Navigators” mentoring program.

The program focused on developing the supervisors’ and senior staff’s knowledge, skills, and abilities to welcome and integrate new employees into their departments and the wider organization. The outcome of this is smoother starts, faster ramp up in productivity, and increased job satisfaction and employee retention.

The Process

The process involved analyzing learning needs and pain points of the target audience based on qualitative and quantitative data collected in the research literature. Following that, the necessary resources were identified and evaluated including the learning management system. The design phase relied on a careful examination of instructional methods and learning theories.

The instructional objectives were established in order to then develop the materials. From there, the instructional package was implemented and deployed on the learning platform.
