Previously, he was a political advisor to the Coalition Provisional Authority in Baghdad and as staff advisor on Iran and Iraq in the Office of the Secretary of Defense.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Rubin earned his undergraduate and doctoral degrees respectively in biology and history from Yale University where he subsequently lectured. He later worked as a visiting lecturer at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and three universities in northern Iraq.
