{"id":99,"date":"2008-05-14T16:23:12","date_gmt":"2008-05-14T21:23:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/mediarepublic\/2008\/05\/14\/congratulations-to-news-challen"},"modified":"2008-05-15T15:36:26","modified_gmt":"2008-05-15T20:36:26","slug":"congratulations-to-news-challenge-winners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/mediarepublic\/2008\/05\/14\/congratulations-to-news-challenge-winners\/","title":{"rendered":"Congratulations to News Challenge Winners!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/mediarepublic\/files\/2008\/05\/happy.jpg\" align=\"left\" height=\"113\" width=\"152\" \/>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.knightfoundation.org\/\">Knight Foundation<\/a> has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newschallenge.org\/189\/news-challenge-press-release.html\">announced<\/a>  the winners of the 2008 Knight News Challenge for &#8220;innovative ideas using digital experiments to transform community news.&#8221; The list of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newschallenge.org\/winners\/2008\">16 winning projects<\/a> includes Media Re:public Forum attendees <a href=\"http:\/\/www.digidave.org\/\">David Cohn<\/a> (go Dave!), whose <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spot.us\/\">spot.us<\/a> project will help crowdfund quality reporting  and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mediastandardstrust.net\/medianews\/blogs\/blogdetails.aspx?sid=15782\">Martin Moore<\/a>, whose <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mediastandardstrust.net\/home.aspx\">Media Standards Trust<\/a> is partnering with Tim Berners-Lee to identify quality news.<\/p>\n<p>Lots of other interesting looking projects &#8211; Drupal for radio, Sochi residents commenting on the approach of the Olympics, one video and one radio project in India, news via telephone. As we had heard previously, lots of international winners.
