{"id":44,"date":"2016-05-15T01:48:16","date_gmt":"2016-05-15T01:48:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.harvard.edu\/maederyork\/?page_id=44"},"modified":"2016-05-15T02:49:54","modified_gmt":"2016-05-15T02:49:54","slug":"week-13-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/maederyork\/week-13-2\/","title":{"rendered":"WEEK THIRTEEN"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 class=\"page-title\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Architecture for Contemporary Muslim Societies; Islamic Hip hop and Punk Rock<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<p>In this week I focused on\u00a0manifestations of &#8220;Islam&#8221; in politics\u00a0and structured a piece of artwork,\u00a0a collage, around the idea of a\u00a0social critique of some of\u00a0the leaders\u00a0in the Muslim World. I chose to have a myriad of leaders such as Gaddafi, Egyptians Mohomed Morsi, Mubarak, and Adbel Fattah El-Sisi, the Shah and Ayatolah of Iran, and King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, Asif Ali Zardari, Talaat Pasha, Bashar\u00a0Al-Assad, and Hussein to name some in juxtaposition with\u00a0the wave of new more liberal and free leaders.
