{"id":159,"date":"2005-05-17T10:49:37","date_gmt":"2005-05-17T14:49:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/lydondev\/2005\/05\/17\/breaking-news\/"},"modified":"2012-05-04T00:06:20","modified_gmt":"2012-05-04T04:06:20","slug":"breaking-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/lydondev\/2005\/05\/17\/breaking-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Breaking News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a name='a935'><\/a><\/p>\n<p><P><FONT face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" size=\"4\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; God answers prayer!&nbsp; Sometimes He says: Yes.&nbsp; Sometimes He says: No.&nbsp; Sometimes He says: Wait.<\/FONT><\/P><br \/>\n<P><FONT face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" size=\"4\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Well, the long eclipse is over.&nbsp; Producer Mary McGrath and I are back in the radio game with a new show about everything, titled <STRONG><EM><A href=\"http:\/\/www.radioopensource.org\">Open Source<\/A><\/EM><\/STRONG>.<\/FONT>&nbsp; <\/P><br \/>\n<P><FONT size=\"4\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <FONT face=\"Times New Roman\"><STRONG><EM><A href=\"http:\/\/www.radioopensource.org\">Open Source<\/A><\/EM><\/STRONG> will <IMG hspace=\"10\" src=\"http:\/\/joi.ito.com\/images\/chrisly-tm.jpg\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"10\"> launch Monday, May 30, on two of the top ten markets: WGBH-FM in Boston and KUOW in Seattle,<\/FONT><\/FONT><FONT size=\"4\"><FONT size=\"4\"><FONT size=\"4\"><FONT face=\"Times New Roman\"> <\/FONT><\/FONT><SPAN><FONT size=\"4\">airing Monday through Thursday at<\/FONT> <\/SPAN><\/FONT><SPAN><FONT size=\"4\">7 p.m.<\/FONT> <\/SPAN><\/FONT><SPAN><FONT size=\"4\"><SPAN>&nbsp;<\/SPAN>Starting July 4,&nbsp;Public Radio International&nbsp;will feed the program live nationwide, marketing <STRONG><EM><A href=\"http:\/\/www.radioopensource.org\">Open Source<\/A><\/EM><\/STRONG> to 727 affiliate stations for broadcast and simulcast streaming.&nbsp; We will also be podcasting the show, and archiving it on our site.<\/FONT>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/SPAN><\/P><br \/>\n<P><SPAN>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <SPAN><STRONG><EM><FONT size=\"4\"><A href=\"http:\/\/www.radioopensource.org\">Open Source<\/A><\/FONT><\/EM><\/STRONG><\/SPAN><SPAN><FONT size=\"4\">, unlike any other radio show, is making the show blog a centerpiece of the enterprise.<SPAN>&nbsp; <\/SPAN>The blog will feature posts from and about guests, callers, topics, the host and show producers.<SPAN>&nbsp; <\/SPAN>It will make a point of inviting listeners to &#x201C;become a source&#x201D; with their calls, emails, and audio posts.<SPAN>&nbsp; <\/SPAN>With this aggressive conversation across broadcast and Internet platforms, we are dedicated to making the <B><I><A href=\"http:\/\/www.radioopensource.org\">Open Source<\/A><\/I><\/B> site a major node in the blogosphere.<\/FONT> <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/P><br \/>\n<P><SPAN><SPAN><FONT size=\"4\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Yes, we have grand ambitions here.&nbsp; As David Weinberger commented yesterday in his JOHO blog:<\/FONT> <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/P><br \/>\n<BLOCKQUOTE><br \/>\n<P><SPAN><SPAN>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><SPAN><SPAN><FONT face=\"Verdana\" color=\"#330000\" size=\"2\"><A href=\"http:\/\/www.hyperorg.com\/blogger\/mtarchive\/004012.html\">Chris and his long-time producer, Mary McGrath, are trying to bust the radio medium open, weaving its conversations into and through the Net.
