Debussy made numerous changes to the score over his lifetime: the interludes in the 1907 version are longer, to accomodate scene changes; and the alternate tenor line for Pell&eacute;as, notated in red ink overtop of the original baritone line, was taken from one of Debussy&#8217;s manuscript revisions of the opera.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear:right;float:left;padding:15 px;margin:10px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/loebmusic\/files\/2010\/04\/Pelleas-note.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/loebmusic\/files\/2010\/04\/Pelleas-note.jpg?resize=149%2C200\" alt=\"Typewritten note from publisher \" title=\"Pelleas-note\" width=\"149\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><br \/><em>Correspondence from Durand <br \/>&amp; fils (click to enlarge)<\/em><\/div>\n<p style=\"clear:right\">This copy belonged to the singer Antonin Trantoul (1887-1966); the annotations in red and blue pencil throughout the score may be his. Tipped-in correspondence from the publisher, A.
