{"id":1273,"date":"2012-03-14T12:28:41","date_gmt":"2012-03-14T16:28:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/lianaleahy\/?p=1273"},"modified":"2012-04-27T12:19:24","modified_gmt":"2012-04-27T16:19:24","slug":"ruby-hero-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/lianaleahy\/2012\/03\/14\/ruby-hero-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Ruby Hero Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Via the <a href=\"http:\/\/workshops.railsbridge.org\">railsbridge free ruby on rails workshops for women<\/a> (men are included if they can bring along a female), &#8220;the sarah&#8217;s&#8221; Sarah Allen and Sarah Mei have inspired me to take action here in Boston where I led a similar workshop at Harvard and am planning another workshop (yet to be announced) this May.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, their work has extended to <a href=\"http:\/\/teachingkids.railsbridge.org\/\"> creating workshops for kids<\/a> AND they have inspired many folks to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sarahmei.com\/blog\/2009\/06\/30\/why-childcare-matters-at-tech-events\">consider offering childcare<\/a> when putting together events which just helps everyone be awesome.  <\/p>\n<p>This sort of inclusive work is great for everyone in our community.  That&#8217;s why I&#8217;ve nominated them for the Ruby Hero Awards again this year.
