Not the most exciting thing in the world. According to my new schedule, I&#8217;m supposed to be working on the diatom failure project. The next step in that project is essentially the same as for the extant diatom FIB project: get my hands on some diatoms. I decided not to wait but email Andy right away to see what he thought about ordering some diatoms to trial both projects and see if there&#8217;s enough material to work with. Beyond that, I&#8217;m not sure what else I can do on that project until I hear back from Andy.
