Less than four weeks to go…

I have less than four full weeks before I leave for college. My tickets have just been confirmed – I’m flying on SQ026 on the night of Friday, 29 August. Xinwei will be on the same flight until she switches to Lufthansa from Frankfurt to Boston, leaving me to make a domestic connection in New York alone (which involves changing airports – from JFK to La Guardia).
I’d better start packing. I’ve been chasing everyone, from Terence to Gen, to pack early, and yet I can’t bring myself to do more than throw a few sweaters in a suitcase. What should I take with me, and more importantly, what should I leave behind? My friends, my family, my church, my books, my habits, my familiar haunts, the local sights, sounds and cuisine… those I know I cannot take with me. At least there isn’t a limit on carry-on memories.
And before everyone gets the wrong idea, this isn’t romantic nostalgia. It’s more a empirical understanding of what a major change of scenery awaits me.

In other news, the annual summer social season is coming to an end. The first wave of people have already started to leave, and the next wave of departures follows just two weeks later. It’s been fun while it lasted 🙂

The newspaper reporters who hack people phones should be put into prison for 10 years. Longer for hacking the phones of ones who were a victim of a crime or lost some one. The grief and pain of death is bad, without some one hacking your phone to get some thing that they can twist into a news story.

Warum machen die Leute verhungern in einer Welt, die mehr Nahrung als es braucht? Auf einer Webseite es sagte, es sei aufgrund der Logistik bewegt die Nahrung. Ich sage, es ist mehr mit Profit als einen Mangel an der Fähigkeit, die Nahrung zu, wo sie benötigt bewegen. Auch einige Länder der Dritten Welt exportieren Lebensmittel, die sie brauchen, damit sie Geld für andere Dinge zu bekommen. Wenn wir alle noch auf halbem Weg zu dem, was wir Menschheit nennen, würde niemand verhungern. Aber wir sind Menschen und nicht, bis unsere guten Ideale zu leben.

¿Por qué las personas mueren de hambre en un mundo que produce más alimentos de lo que necesita? En una página web que dijo que era debido a la logística del traslado de la comida. Digo, es más que ver con los beneficios que la falta de la capacidad de mover la comida a donde más se necesita. Además, algunos países del tercer mundo son exportadores de alimentos que necesitan para que puedan conseguir el dinero para otras cosas. Si todos eran aún a medio camino de lo que llamamos humanidad, nadie moriría de hambre. Pero somos humanos y no pueden vivir hasta nuestros ideales bien.

Minun viimeinen viikko työtä hallituksen järjestelmää. Takaisin työttömyys jonoon ensi viikolla. Järjestelmä oli vain kolmetoista viikkoa ja joka päättyy neljässä päivässä. Ikävystyminen ja tuskin tarpeeksi rahaa elämiseen. 🙁 .

Nur noch zwei Tage nach diesem Tag der Arbeit auf die Regierung Schema. 🙁 Dann wieder auf die Arbeitslosigkeit Warteschlange nächste Woche Dreizehn Wochen einen Job, und nur immer 45 Prozent des Mindestlohns für ihn und die Regierung fragt sich, warum das System ist nicht populär Wenn ich Mindestlohn bezahlt werden müsste ich! genoss es mehr und hatte etwas Geld gespart.
