{"id":7,"date":"2004-09-02T15:48:20","date_gmt":"2004-09-02T19:48:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/jackstriptoeurope\/2004\/09\/02\/first-post-frankfurt-airpor"},"modified":"2004-09-02T15:48:20","modified_gmt":"2004-09-02T19:48:20","slug":"first-post-frankfurt-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/jackstriptoeurope\/2004\/09\/02\/first-post-frankfurt-airport\/","title":{"rendered":"First Post:  Frankfurt Airport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a name='a4'><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hi.&nbsp; I am at a stopover in Frankfurt.&nbsp; I should be more tired<br \/>\nthan this considering that it&#8217;s 6:00 am EDT, but I&#8217;m not.&nbsp; It&#8217;s<br \/>\nnoon here and I just had a $5.00 cup of coffee.<\/p>\n<p>Pithy observations:<\/p>\n<p>1.&nbsp; The Europeans pay so much more attention to design here.&nbsp;<br \/>\nI&#8217;m sick of ugly American airports!&nbsp; I wonder how much of what<br \/>\nthey do better is due to saving money by living with their<br \/>\nparents.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>2.&nbsp; That was the first thing I noticed.&nbsp; The second<br \/>\nwas:&nbsp; people standing in a zone in the middle of the departure<br \/>\nlounge smoking.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>3. Singapore Airlines is damn nice.&nbsp; They had video games on the<br \/>\nplane and I played Super Mario Bros. from 1985, which reminded me of<br \/>\nMark, of course.<\/p>\n<p>4.
