Five of them arrived last week, to spend\u00a0spring term continuing their research:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Stavroula Valia Babis (Valia)<\/strong> is a student from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.harvard.edu\/academics\/degrees\/special-programs\/study-abroad\/joint-degree-program.html\" target=\"_blank\">University of Cambridge<\/a>. Her thesis work is on proposed legal frameworks for supervision, crisis management, and resolution of international banking groups.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Henri Decoeur<\/strong> is also from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.harvard.edu\/academics\/degrees\/special-programs\/study-abroad\/joint-degree-program.html\" target=\"_blank\">University of Cambridge<\/a>. His dissertation examines possible criminal justice responses to state-organized crime.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Alexandra Evans (Alex)<\/strong>\u00a0is a student from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.harvard.edu\/academics\/degrees\/special-programs\/study-abroad\/semester-abroad-university-of-sydney.html\" target=\"_blank\">Sydney Law School<\/a>. Her thesis evaluates the current model of trust taxation in Australia.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Yuji Fujioka<\/strong> is visiting from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.harvard.edu\/academics\/degrees\/special-programs\/study-abroad\/semester-abroad-university-of-tokyo.html\" target=\"_blank\">University of Tokyo<\/a>. His research focuses on international taxation and the taxation of business entities in Japan.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Da Hea Lee (Ida)<\/strong> is from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.harvard.edu\/academics\/degrees\/special-programs\/study-abroad\/semester-abroad-seoul-national-university.html\" target=\"_blank\">Seoul National University<\/a>. Her dissertation looks at labor law and the human rights of migrant workers.<strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>They join three more exchange students (not pictured) who are spending\u00a0the fall and spring semesters\u00a0at HLS:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Delphine Dogot<\/strong> is\u00a0visiting from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.harvard.edu\/academics\/degrees\/special-programs\/study-abroad\/semester-abroad-sciences-po.html\" target=\"_blank\">Sciences Po <\/a>in Paris. Her research focuses on the way in which international lawyers respond to changing patterns of war in the general context of globalization.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Charles-Henry Frouart<\/strong> is also from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.harvard.edu\/academics\/degrees\/special-programs\/study-abroad\/semester-abroad-sciences-po.html\" target=\"_blank\">Sciences Po. <\/a>His research focuses on deconstructing and analyzing classical definitions of the legal concept of public domain in patent law.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Adil Khan<\/strong> is a student from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.harvard.edu\/academics\/degrees\/special-programs\/study-abroad\/ils-semester-abroad-university-of-geneva.html\" target=\"_blank\">Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies<\/a> in Geneva.\u00a0His research project examines the the making of international law pertaining to indigenous peoples.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Although this year&#8217;s incoming exchange students all happen to be\u00a0doctoral students, our exchange programs are open to J.D. and S.J.D. students at HLS and pre-doctoral and doctoral-level students from our foreign partners.\u00a0HLS J.D students may also conduct an independent semester abroad at law schools throughout the world.<\/p>\n<p>Want to learn more?\u00a0Visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.harvard.edu\/academics\/degrees\/special-programs\/study-abroad\/semester-abroad.html#EligibilityandApplications\" target=\"_blank\">semester abroad<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.harvard.edu\/academics\/degrees\/special-programs\/study-abroad\/joint-degree-program.html\" target=\"_blank\">HLS-University of Cambridge joint degree program<\/a> pages on our web site.\u00a0(Applications to spend a semester abroad next fall are due\u00a0by February 15.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please join us in welcoming (and welcoming back) the eight students from HLS&#8217; exchange partner schools who are currently studying here.
