Representing 64 countries and jurisdictions, from Argentina to the U.S.A., the class includes 184 new students and 33 LL.M. candidates returning from the LL.M. class of 2020\u20132021 to complete their studies in person.\u00a0Together, they will spend the upcoming academic year pursuing a <a href=\"https:\/\/hls.harvard.edu\/dept\/graduate-program\/llm-program\/\">Master of Laws degree<\/a> on Harvard\u2019s reopening campus.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, seven students are beginning their studies for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/hls.harvard.edu\/dept\/graduate-program\/sjd-program\/\">S.J.D. (Doctor of Juridical Science) degree<\/a>, the law school\u2019s most advanced degree. These new candidates join 49 continuing S.J.D. students. \u00a0Together, they represent 28 countries or jurisdictions.<\/p>\n<p>HLS is also welcoming seven international students from the law school\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/hls.harvard.edu\/dept\/ils\/semester-abroad\/locations\/\">exchange partner schools<\/a>\u00a0in Australia, Brazil, China, France, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
