Mail.app under Tiger<br \/>\n does not seem to let you set the particular folder for sent messages.  It<br \/>\n only defaults to Sent Messages for IMAP.\n <\/p>\n<p>\n Luckily, Thunderbird is far more configureable so it allows you set the<br \/>\n particular folder for sent messages.  Solution:  Make sure Thunderbird<br \/>\n points to <b>INBOX\/Sent Messages<\/b> for its version of the Sent folder<br \/>\n or else you&#8217;ll end up having issues like I had where the sent messages<br \/>\n for Thunderbird and Mail.app were different which caused quite a bit<br \/>\n of head scratching.\n <\/p>\n<h4>Quick notes for setting up Thunderbird to use the right folder<\/h4>\n<p>\n <em><br \/>\n Tools -&gt; Account Settings -&gt; [Choose your account] -&gt; Copies &amp; Folders<br \/>\n <\/em><br \/>\n <br \/>\n Check <em>When sending messages, automatically<\/em><br \/>\n <em>&#8216;Place a copy in:&#8217; <\/em><br \/>\n <br \/>\n <em><br \/>\n Other -&gt; [Click on drop-down combo box and find INBOX\/Sent Messages]<br \/>\n <\/em>\n <\/p>\n<p>\n References:<br \/>\n <br \/>\n <a href=\"http:\/\/whatdoiknow.org\/archives\/002420.shtml\">Mail.app, IMAP, and Trash woes<\/a><br \/>\n (Didn&#8217;t work for me.
