Ms. Plassnik began her career in the <span style=\"border-bottom: 1px dashed #0066cc;cursor: pointer\">Austrian Ministry for Foreign Affairs<\/span>, where she held various positions. In 1997, Ms. Plassnik was chosen as the Cabinet Chief for Vice Chancellor <span>Wolfgang Sch\u00fcssel<\/span>. When Mr. Sch\u00fcssel became the Austrian Chancellor in 2000, Ms. Plassnik remained Cabinet Chief in his government until 2004, when she was appointed Foreign Minister.
