The economy<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\twill create 19 million new payroll jobs in the decade to<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t2014.&#8221;<\/b> Forbes took its information from the 10-year<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tjobs projections from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, US<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tDepartment of Labor, released last December.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Verdana\">\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Verdana\">If the job growth of the past<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\thalf-decade is a guide, the forecast of 19 million new<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tjobs is optimistic, to say the least. According to the<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tBureau of Labor Statistics payroll jobs data, from<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tJanuary 2001-January 2006 the US economy created<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t1,054,000 net new private sector jobs and 1,039,000 net<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tnew government jobs for a total five-year figure of<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t2,093,000. How does the US Department of Labor get from<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t2 million jobs in five years to 19 million in ten years? &#8230;<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Verdana\">Oracle,&nbsp; &#8230; which has been<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\thanding out thousands of pink slips, has recently<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tannounced two thousand more jobs being moved to India.<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tHow is Oracle&#x2019;s move of US jobs to India creating jobs<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tin the US for waitresses and bartenders, hospital<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\torderlies, state and local government and credit<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tagencies, the only areas of job growth? &#8230;<br \/><\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Paul Craig Roberts On February 20 Forbes.com told its readers with a straight face that &#8220;the American job-generation machine rolls on.
