German version below.)<\/p>\n<p>17 JULY 2006, MONDAY, DUSSELDORF, GERMANY<\/p>\n<p>The Technical University of Munich Is Not a Terror School \u2013 24<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cAfter the last summer vacation, the school director did not return to her post, and that was when it all began. The director had become ill, and she remained ill. There was no deputy director, because no one in the last ten years had even applied for the job. The Neukoelln Board of Education then appointed Petra Eggebrecht acting school director. \u2018I didn\u2019t want the job,\u2019 she said, \u2018actually no one wanted it, but I was the teacher with the most seniority.\u2019 Eggebrecht has been at the school since 1970. Sie war krank und blieb es, einen Stellvertreter gab es nicht, seit zehn Jahren hatte sich niemand f\u00fcr die Stelle beworben. Die Neuk\u00f6llner Schulaufsichtsbeh\u00f6rde ernannte dann Petra Eggebrecht zur kommissarischen Schulleiterin. \u00bbIch wollte das gar nicht machen, niemand wollte es machen, aber ich war eben die Dienst\u00e4lteste.\u00ab Seit 1970 ist sie hier. Die R\u00fctli-Schule war ihr erster Arbeitsplatz nach dem Studium.
