This fact was confirmed by outside experts whom the university assigned to investigate the problem after the first doubts arose regarding the quality of doctoral dissertations at the institute. It is now only seventeen places behind China\u2019s Tsinghua University (ranked 71 in the world), only twenty-six places behind the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (ranked 62 in the world), only thirty-nine places behind Peking University (ranked 49 in the world), only forty-eight places behind the National University of Singapore (ranked 40 in the world), only thirty-five places behind Korea\u2019s Pohang University of Science and Technology (ranked 53 in the world), and, for another comparison, only eighty-one places behind the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (ranked 7 in the world). Das haben externe Fachgutachter best\u00e4tigt, die von der Universit\u00e4t beauftragt worden waren, nachdem erste Zweifel an der Qualit\u00e4t der Dissertationen aufgekommen waren.
